Septembers Returning Faves!

Friday, 1 September 2017

It's the first of September, which surely means some of our favorite TV Shows are returning? Well yes! Of course it does! Here are a few of our top choices to look forward to over the next coming weeks!

Doctor Foster - Series 2 - BBC One

The critically acclaimed Doctor Foster is returning to BBC One this September. Series 2 picks up two years later then the previous series events, however, this time around it's 'all out war'.

Two years after Doctor Gemma Foster dramatically exposed her husband Simon's betrayals, forcing him to leave town, her life is destabilized once again when he returns.
It''s the show that earned Surrane Jones four nominations in which she won all four; Best Drama Performance (National Television Awards), Best Actress (Broadcasting Press Guild Awards), Best Actress (Royal Television Society Awards) & Best Actress (British Academy Television Awards).

The new five-part second series of Doctor Foster starts on Tuesday 5th September on BBC One at 9pm. Catch up with Series One now on BBC iPlayer.

Stella - Series 6 - Sky 1

When Gavin & Stacey ended in 2010, we were all dreading the thought of not seeing Ruth Jones on our TV screens anymore! So when Sky announced that they were airing Ruth Jones brand new comedy Stella, we were all thrilled! The comedy set in the welsh village of Pontyberry, has been watched and adored by thousands of Sky customers and this September, the final series is due to air.

Take one last trip to Pontyberry in the final series of Ruth Jone's much-loved comedy drama. Stella's boat is rocked when Luke discovers her long-kept secret.
It seems most of the original cast will be back for the final series, so make sure you tune in for Stella's last outing (yes we're all sobbing too!) on Tuesday 12th September at 9pm on Sky 1. If you'd like to get into the series or catch up on series one to five, then head on over to Sky Box Sets, where you can find all of the episodes waiting for you to binge!

Game of Thrones - Series 1 - Sky Atlantic

We've just had seven weeks of probably the most EPIC television ever to have aired. So whilst you're eagerly waiting for the eight and final series of the worldwide hit, why not re-watch from series one, or if you're new to the series or wish you had watched it from the beginning - here is your chance!

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond.
It really is worth the watch, it will have you gripped with excitement, episode after episode, and the visuals are unlike television has ever seen before. Catch Game of Thrones from the very beginning (Series One) on Friday 8th September at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.

Top Tip: Don't have Sky? Don't fear... most certainly one of your friends does, so try and get their Sky Go log-in so you can watch wherever you are! If they need to know why... just say... WINTER IS HERE.

That's the top 3 picks for this September's returning faves!

Until the next time!

Game of Thrones: Season Finale & Where the Hell is Daenerys?

Saturday, 26 August 2017

BE CAREFUL! THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS, BUT HEY! WE ALL KNOW WINTER IS HERE!

The Season Finale of Game of Thrones season seven is extremely close and what a season it's been! We've had battles, EPIC battles, White Walkers, Dragons (yes, we are still mourning at the loss), Torture, Secrets and well the list could go on and on! Although this season is the shortest ever, we haven't been left disappointed. In this icy article, we'll look over what to expect from the finale and we'll try to put forth some clues as to WHERE IN ALL OF WESTEROS IS DAENERYS TARGARYEN?

So first of all, lets give you ALL the details of the finale...
  • Episode: The Dragon & The Wolf (S07,E07)
  • Writers: David Benioff & D.B. Weiss
  • Director: Jeremy Podeswa
  • Runtime: 79 MINUTES!!! - (Longest ever episode!

There's only one war that matters, and it is here!
Yes Jon Snow, we know! So the first two sets of images tease something we've all been waiting for! Nearly every important character will attend the peace-pact meeting at the Dragonpit! We'll see Cersei, Jamie, Jon, Tyrion, Brienne, and many others all gather to show Cersei that the threat coming from the North is more important than the fight for the Iron Throne!

Well this image tells us one thing.... It's going to be a frosty reunion between Tyrion and his sister Cersei! Let's not forget the reason Cersei hates her brother is because he killed their father, and unfortunately caused the death of their mother, who died giving birth to him. She also held a grudge towards him for the death of her spoilt brat Joffrey, however she's since learned that it was Lady Olenna who killed off her wicked son! Whatever happens, we don't expect these two will run into each others arms!

So NOW you need to ask yourself.... WHERE IN ALL OF WESTEROS IS DAENERYS?

Daenerys has undoubtedly been the main player this season, her long awaited arrival to Westeros was indeed epic. We've seen her unleash her beloved Drogon on the Lannister army, and the White Walkers. Last week, we saw her loose one of her dragons, Viserion (we will still mourn for you), so maybe in the finale, she's took the day off? NO! Don't be silly! She's the Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains, The Unburnt, The Khaleesi of The Great Grass Sea! So here are some ideas as to what Dany could be up to in the finale and maybe they can reveal why HBO have kept her out of all promotional images and trailers for the finale!

  • (1) Daenerys could be about to make a DRAMATIC entrance to the Dragonpit! Many believe the reason why she's being kept hidden from promo images and trailers is because the writers have planned for Dany to land down in front of Cersei on Drogon, just to show her who's boss!
  • (2) Maybe because of her recent loss, Dany believes things are moving too slow, so, whilst everybody is at the meeting, could Dany burn the Lannister Army or Euron Greyjoy's fleet of ships?
  • (3) Knowing Cersei the way Tyrion does, maybe he's persuaded her to stay at home with a cuppa!
Who knows? However, there is a reason as to why she's being left out, and there's not long left to find out why!

So back to the finale preview...

The above images see Jamie and Bronn look out across Dany's army, the Unsullied and Dothraki. We're not suprised they look a bit cautious after the last time they came face to face with them. (Slaughter, come to mind?) However, with Cersei around, could she have a plan to wipe them all out? After all, she can't really be trused... can she?

Theon looks a bit wary here... he's presumably standing on the bay of Dragonstone, however, could this be before or after the meeting? Could he be worried over not getting his sister back? Or has he?

The last two images take us back up to Winterfell! Above you can see a rather thoughtful looking Sansa and below her, a nice picture of Bran warming up to the flames in the fire. We're not quite sure as to why we haven't seen a picture of Ayra, perhaps, HBO are keeping her locked away for some reason too! Last time we saw her, she was explaining her faces to a very worried looking Sansa, with the two sisters not getting on, could Ayra finally click that nastly Littlefinger is behind it all? Or has she been playing him this whole entire time? (MIND-BLOWN)

It won't be long til we find out how the finale will play out however, we're sure of a couple of things! Cersei will have something wicked up her sleeve, the Walkers will most probably burn the wall down and Jon and Dany may have S*X!

You can catch the season finale of Season 7 of Game of Thrones at 9pm EST on HBO in America or if you're in the UK you can watch at the same time as the US by tuning into Sky Atlantic at 2am Monday morning! Don't forget to join Sue Perkins if you're in the UK by watching her final Thronecast which will be aired immediately after the 9pm viewing of the finale in the UK on Monday Night! Check back here Tuesday for an ultimate review!

Thanks for reading, oh and by the way I'm a new guest writer, TheKhaloftheGreatGrassSea! Yep, I'm a massive thrones fan along with anything to do with Who, Potter, Drama, Drama and more Drama! So until the next time.... ADIOS!
