TV Review: The Gifted Season 1 Episode 1 "eXposed" [Emz]

Monday 9 October 2017

So I had originally thought that The gifted had already aired in America, for a complete season, but it has only just started as of the 2nd October.

It is definitely not what I expected, but that's a good thing.

So The Gifted stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker and Jamie Chung.

Here is the synopsis for this episode:
Set in the “X-Men” universe, family adventure series THE GIFTED tells the emotional story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their teenage children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family seeks help from an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Review:

This episode was brilliant. I like the way the whole story is set in an alternate timeline where the Xmen disappear and the humans take back control and start rounding up the Mutants, especially if they used their powers.

So we meet Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer) who is a District attorney, he has dealt with Mutant cases in the past and is in the middle of a case when he discovers that both his children are mutants.

Of course as these cases go, The Sentinal Services try to take the kids away but they manage to escape.

Things don't really go to plan but with the help of an underground Mutant organisation they manage to escape, but Reed get taken away.

The episode was quick paced but it was very good and didn't lack on the details of two hormonal teenagers and that if they didn't get the children away, no one knows what would happen.

I look forward to seeing where this story will progress next.

Till next time

Emz x
