TV Review: The Gifted Season 1 Episode 2 "rX" [Emz]

Tuesday, 31 October 2017

So it took me a while to watch the second episode due to being busy, but I finally managed it.

Here is the Synopsis:
After exerting her powers beyond their limits, Blink goes into a state of shock, forcing Caitlin and Eclipse to go on a mission to find a special serum that will help her to recover. Meanwhile, Reed faces some difficult choices when it comes to helping his family, and Polaris runs into some trouble.

This episode was really good. There are alot of things happening at once and alot of secrets yet to be mentioned.

We start with a direct continuation from the first episode with Blink (Clarice) collapses and Reed is left on the other side.

After a few arguements the kids realize that they cannot currently go back for their dad and along with htier mum decide to help Clarice.

During his time Clarice keeps opening portals in the same place and Lauren (Reed's daughter) is able to close them. She decides to stay with the team to help close the portals whilst her mother and Marcos (Eclipse) go to fnd medication to help her awaken from her Coma.

Of course, Reed gets picked up by the Police and interrogated. other family members are interrogated also.

Thing were not going so well for Polaris in Prison, with each time she used her powers she was electrocuted.

This episode kept me on the edge of my seat, not knowing when the next portal kept opening and as each portal opened in the same place each time, the Police appeared and eventually so did SWAT.

I look forward to the next episode.

TV Review: Doctor Who Series 1 Episode 10 "The Doctor Dances" [Emz]

Monday, 30 October 2017

So... sorry for a slight absence. but here we are with Part 2 of  The Empty Child.

This episode is called The Doctor Dances. It first aired on the 28th May 2005 on BBC One.

Here is the synopsis:
The Child's plague is spreading throughout wartime London, and its zombie army is on the march. The Ninth Doctor and Rose form an alliance with intergalactic con man Captain Jack, but find themselves trapped in the abandoned hospital. They head to the crash site of Jack's supposed space junk and discover the ground zero for the mysterious plague.

Review:

So last time we saw the Doctor, Rose and Jack they were stuck in the Hospital surrounded by the people who had become Gas mask zombies... for the lack of a better word.

So as this episode begins, the Doctor shouts for them to go to their rooms. Of course not thinking they get trapped in the the the little boy with the Gas Mask's 'Room.'

The Doctor and Rose work out that Jack is the reason that that people are turning into Gas Mask Zombies as the empty 'ambulance' was what The Doctor and Rose followed into the Blitz and Jack released it.

The nano-genes which healed rose in the last episode are what was in the Ambulance and it didn't know what the difference was between the mask and his skin.

The Doctor Realises that Nancy is the boys mother and not his sister and the Nano genes fix the problems that couldn't be fixed before.

The doctor sends the Nano genes to heal all the other people affected, with some interesting side effects (a woman's leg grows back)

A the episode ends, The Doctor and Rose save Jack from sacrificing himself to save everyone from the bomb and they head off on adventures unknown.

This epiosde was the second half of the creepy episode and this one creeped me out just as much but I was glad there was a happy ending.

I loved the quote about a woman's leg growing back and Richard Wilson's character says "There is a war on, is it possible you miscounted?"

I love Doctor Who and would watch many episodes in a heart beat but this episode and The Empty Child are ones I wouldn't watch in a hurry, but never say never.

Thats all for now

Movies & TV Shows to Watch in November 2017 [Emz]

Tuesday, 24 October 2017

So as November is almost here, I thought I would make a post on what i'm looking forward to watching next month.

If you have anything that you like that I haven't added feel free to comment.

The Librarians - Season 4

So as most of you know, I am currently review Season 1. I haven't even started Season 2, but this gets me excited knowing that there are plenty more seasons to watch.

Here is a tease on the upcoming season from Comingsoon.net:
In The Librarians Season 4, our heroes embark on new, action-packed adventures, risking their lives once again to save the world. They face off against Santa’s brother the Patron Saint of Thieves, try to save a town plagued by ghosts from the Civil War, battle a casino that steals luck, endure a body switching fiasco and join forces with a time traveling Librarian from the past. But their greatest challenge will come from within the Library itself. With Charlene no longer tethered to the Library, which keeps it grounded to humanity, one Librarian and one Guardian must step up and take the mantle. As Jenkins organizes the Tethering Ceremony, the high ritual that will bond the pair to the Library forever, thus granting them immortality, Flynn and Baird seem poised to make this sacrifice. Until a woman from Flynn’s past reveals herself to be one of the Library’s dirty little secrets.
Confronted with a dark mystery about the Library, every Librarian must ask themselves some tough questions: Is the Library itself good or evil? After millennia of one Librarian at a time, is it dangerous to have multiple Librarians working together? Can a Librarian ever live a “normal” life filled with love, friends and family? The Librarians have a lot of research to do, but this time, they’ll need to find the answers inside themselves without any books or prophecies.

The Season will Premiere on Syfy Sometime in November.

A Bad Moms Christmas

So This is a sequel of sorts to the film Bad Moms which was released last year. Obviously the story is set around Christmas.

Here is the Synopsis:

Under-appreciated and overburdened moms Amy (Mila Kunis), Kiki (Kristen Bell) and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for Moms: Christmas. As if creating the perfect holiday for their families isn't hard enough, they'll have to do it while hosting and entertaining their own respective mothers (Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines and Susan Sarandon) when they come to visit.

So the girls are going to rebel again by the sounds of things. I really enjoyed the first one, I admit it was rather rude but very funny. This one looks to be even better with Susan Sarandon and Christine Baranski joining the cast.

We also have Justin Hartley joining the cast, known best for portraying Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen in Smallville.

A Bad Moms Christmas will hit Cinema's on the 1st November 2017.

The Punisher

Now This show is a spin-off from Marvel's Daredevil Season 2. There have been much speculation around this series and it's release date following the attacks in Las Vegas on the 1st October.

Here is the Synopsis:

Frank Castle, known throughout New York City as "the Punisher" after exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his family, uncovers a larger conspiracy beyond what was done to him and his family.

The show sounds very gritty and most likely violent, which is mostly like the other Netflix Marvel shows.

Jon Bernthal (The Walking Deas, Sicario, The Accountant and Baby Driver) will be reprising his role as Frank Castle from Daredevil Season 2.

The Show will Premiere on Netflix on the 17th November.

Murder On The Orient Express

Now this film has been remade multiple times. It is based on the book by Agatha Christie which was released in 1934.

Here is the synopsis:

A lavish trip through Europe quickly unfolds into a race against time to solve a murder aboard a train. Everyone's a suspect when Detective Hercule Poirot arrives to interrogate all passengers and search for clues before the killer can strike again.

This film has an all star cast, from Dame Judi Dench to Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz to Daisy Ridley to name but a few..

The book has been adapted one previously for the cinema in 1974, twice for TV in 2001 and 2010 and for Radio between 1992 and 1993. There has even been a Japanese film adaptation and a computer game with was released in 2006.

The film will air at Cinema's from 5th November.

Justice League

So this is basically DC 's answer to Marvel's Avengers.

We have Batman, Wonderwoman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash.

Here is the Synopsis:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash -- it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
This film has been directed by Zac Snyder with a little help from Joss Wheedon due to sad circumstances surounding Snyders family.

This film will hit Cinema's on the 17th November.

Let me know if you are planning on seeing any of these film/ TV Shows. If there are any films or TV Shows you are wanting to see, let me know in the comments.

TV Review: Designated Survivor Season 1 Episode 4 "The Enemy" [Emz]

Monday, 23 October 2017

So this episode mainly carries on with big issues that have been brewing in the last couple of episodes.

It was a very powerful episode in my mind with the issues it dealt with.

Here is the Synopsis for this episode:
After learning who was behind the attack, Kirkman faces the prospect of war and growing domestic problems; Kirkman assigns Emily to keep an eye on the situation at home; Alex seeks help from Hookstraten.

Review:

This was a an episode where many thing came to a head. The situation in Michigan where all Muslims were being arrested for no reason whatsoever, this escalated when the Governor conspired with the National guard to keep the President out. The Governor ended up being arrested despite Emily speeding time  trying to convince the Governor to talk tings out the The President.

Seth ends up becoming White House Press Secretary even though it wasn't the Job he wanted.

Kirkman ends up firing General Cochane after he takes matters into his own hands regarding Algeria and the search for the Terrorist believed to be behind the Capital Bombings.

Finally Hannah Wells the FBi agent continues to look into why McLeish was not in his seat when the bomb went off.

It was good to see some loose ends tied up in this episode. With the firing of the General, who has been against President Kirkman since day one and the Governor of Michigan being arrested, it helps to create more alliances for Kirkman.

Obviously there is still a lot more to be sorted out but for now it's a start.

Movie Review: Blade Runner 2049 [Emz]

So I saw this film a few weeks ago. Needless to say... I enjoyed it but it wasn't brilliant in my opinion.

Anyway The films stars Ryan Gosling as the Lead character of Agent K Jared Leto as Niander Wallace and Harrison Ford Reprises his role as Rick Deckard from the original 1982 film.

Here is the Synopsis:
Set thirty years after the original film, the story depicts a bioengineered human named K, who discovers the remains of a once-pregnant replicant. To prevent a possible war between replicants and humans, K is secretly tasked with finding the child and destroying all evidence related to it.

Review:

Baring in mind I hadn't seen the original.. It was a bit before my time and I hadn't thought of watching it prior to this film.

There was brief explanation at the beginning explaining what happened after the last film (in the world, not necessarily to the characters)

The original film is set 2 years from now.. give or take.. in 2019. This film is set 30 years later.

We meet Agent K (Ryan Gosling) as he is employed by the LAPD to kill all of the original Replicants that fled prior to the Blackout that occurred after the first film. We find him tracking down the Replicant and eventually killing him.

Of course after this happened he realizes something is amiss and scans the area. He locates a box under the tree and that is where we begin the next part of our story.

So everything that happens after that starts with the discovery of what is in the box. We find out there are skeletal remains in the box of a woman who had given birth. After further examination it turned out the woman was a replicant.

Throughout the story K keeps finding evidence to what he thinks proves that he was the child that she gave birth to, as his memories matched things that were mentioned and evidence he found. With evidence lost in the Blackout, he struggles to find alot of evidence but he is also led to believe that there were either twins and the girl died and the boy survived or someone altered the data. also the date of birth for the child match a memory of a young child with a toy horse with that same date on it.

He decides to visit a woman by the name of  Dr. Ana Stelline who lives in a bubble as she would be ill if she went outside. She specializes in memories she  for Replicants, who when he shows her the memory she says that someone did live it. He thinks this helps prove his case.

After going to an Orphanage and not finding much information there except the Toy horse from his memories, which he thinks proves that he is the child of Rachel the replicant.

After having ther horse analysed he heads out to find the child's father is, or as he believes it to be his father he flies out there to meet him. The father of the child turns out the be Deckard and he tells K the whole story of how the child came to be and why he has never seen the child and wasn't able to try to search for his child after the blackout as all the data was lost.

Obviously he was followed by Wallace's replicant Luv and her "men" who kidnap Deckard and leave K for dead. He is saved by a woman named Freysa who informs him that the baby was in fact a girl.

K figures out who the child is and then saves Deckard from Luv and takes Deckard to meet his daughter.

The thing that annoyed me was the very slow pace in which everything happened. You are led to believe that Harrison  Ford is in the Majority of the movie but in actual fact he only turns up just over halfway through the film.. if that. the whole film was really slow at the beginning I understand that it's not always quick to gather evidence but it was just so drawn out.

Then after we get to Harrison ford's appearance in the film everything starts to quicken up... even though it is still rather slow.

I did enjoy the whole idea behind the story but it's not a film I would watch multiple time at the cinema.

TV Review: Doctor Who Series 1 Episode 9 "The Empty Child" [Emz]

So this is the 1st half of the second of the two-part episodes (there are three two-part episodes in this series)

This episode and the next one... When I first watched them... boy did they creep me out, I don't think I slept well that night. They are still not my favourite episodes and if I keep watching them too much they would still give me the creeps. But  anyway on with the review.

There are a couple of guest stars to mention in this episode: John Barrowman - this was the first episode of Doctor Who he appeared in. Florence Hoath (Fairytale: A True Story), Cheryl Fergison (Eastenders) and Richard Wilson (One Foot In The Grave).

This Episode aired originally on the 21st May 2015 on BBC One.

Here is the Synopsis:
Chasing a metallic object through the Time Vortex, the Ninth Doctor and his companion, Rose Tyler, arrive in London during the Blitz. While Rose meets "Captain Jack Harkness", the dashing Time Agent responsible for bringing the object, the Doctor finds a group of homeless children terrorised by Jamie, an "empty" child wearing a gas mask.

Review:

What an episode this was. I was always used to the weird and the downright bonkers but this episode creeped me out.

So We learn that most of the universe use Code Mauve for Emergencies. The Doctor and Rose follow a Cylinder heading for the centre of London.

They materialise in London 1941, right in the middle of The Blitz. The doctor goes to find out where they are and what year they are in. In the meantime Rose follows a Boy who she thinks is lost. She ends up floating in the air attached to a Barrage balloon and is saved by Captain Jack Harkness.

The Doctor in the mean time is searching for Rose and heads back to the TARDIS and the outside phone rings despite someone telling him not to answer it he does so anyway. This is where the main part of the story begins, He hears are you my mummy? down the telephone.

So we have a child with a Gas Mask on his face and he constantly chants are you my mummy? The Doctors been warned not to touch the boy else he will turn into a Gas Mask Zombie also.

The doctor finds hospital ward full of people in seemingly Catatonic states with Gas Masks on their faces. There is one doctor looking after them (Richard Wilson) before he too turns into one of them.

To finish off the episode, Rose and Jack catch up with The Doctor (Who Jack thinks is called Doctor Spock) and he thinks he can buy the TARDIS from him as he is a Conman. They are then trapped as the Gas Mask people wake up and corner them chanting are you my mummy?

This episode was extremely creepy and it was emphasised by the location of London in the middle of the Blitz and its at night with bombs dropping and light flashing.

I will review the Second half "The Doctor Dances" next time.

Till then

TV Review: The Flash Season 3 Episode 7 "Killer Frost" [Emz]

Friday, 20 October 2017

Now this episode was definitely the start of an interesting character arc. The episodes from the beginning of this season have been leading up to this and we had glimpses of this happening from previous seasons  when we met their Earth-2 counterpart.

I am of course talking about Caitlin Snow becoming Killer Frost.

Here is the Synopsis:

Caitlin's inner Killer Frost is unleashed after she uses her powers to save Barry; on a rampage, Killer Frost goes looking for Dr. Alchemy, kidnaps Julian and battles both The Flash and Vibe; Joe and H.R. have an honest discussion.

Review:

Blimey this episode really kicked this season up a notch. Last episode we had the revealing of the main villain Savitar and we saw Wally become encased in a cocoon.

So how does Caitlin become killer Frost you ask? Well we see Savitar kidnap Barry (The Flash) and seemingly teleport him all over the city, once they arrive at a nearby destination Iris asks Caitlin to help stop Savitar from killing Barry by using her powers, (she informed the team about them last episode) Caitlin was unsure but she helped him anyway.

This is what caused her to lose control over her powers. she manipulates Joe in to thinking that Wally was awake so she could gather information on Doctor Alchemy, what for we don't know in the beginning.

She abducts Julian to help her search for Doctor Alchemy and she inadvertently reveals that she wants to get rid of her powers. Of course she learns from a follower that Alchemy would not get rid of her powers and that Savitar would have plans for her.

After a battle with Cisco and The Flash, Caitlin is eventually captured. During this time we see Joe and H.R. break open the Cocoon that Wally is in and he hasn't yet completely bonded with his powers. Barry tries to convince Caitlin to help them by giving her the freedom she wants, but only if she kills him. Unable to do this Caitlin rejoins the team and creates a serum which will help Wally stabilize his powers.

Following this Julian blackmails Barry to quit his job else he will tell the Police about Caitlin.

This definitely was quite an episode, there was so much going on but it all interlinked at some point or another.

I really enjoyed Danielle Panabaker's portrayal of Killer Frost/ Caitlin Snow and look forward to what's to come.

Till next time

DVD Reviews: The Librarians Season 1 Episode 4 "And Santa's Midnight Run" [Emz]

Do you Believe in Santa? Well whether you do or not, this episode provided some amusing entertainment.

Here is the Synopsis:

When the Serpent Brotherhood wants to kill Santa, the librarians must rescue him and help him accomplish the secret purpose of Christmas.

Review:

This episode was good and really funny. So with have the Serpent Brotherhood trying to kill Santa. The hat that Santa wears keeps all his personalities in check, without this he shape-shifts into different versions on himself. We also discover that this version of Santa (for the show) is allergic to mistletoe as The Serpent Brotherhood poison him with it to kidnap him.

To restore Christmas Eve (Baird) is the only one who can as she was born on Christmas Eve only problem is she is reluctant as she doesn't believe in celebrating Christmas. In the end though she saves the day.

I did have to laugh at all the different personalities of Santa and when Ezekiel wears the hat, he changes completely. He is usually up to no good and stealing things, but in this instant he is very giving and charitable.

That's all for now

TV Review: The Flash Season 3 Episode 6 "Shade" [Emz]

Thursday, 19 October 2017

So this episode marks the beginning of Kid Flash.

Here is the synopsis:
Wally starts having dreams about being Kid Flash, making Barry realize he must tell Wally, Iris and Joe what happened to Wally in Flashpoint.

Review:

I enjoyed this episode. It was interesting to see how Doctor Alchemy gives people powers that their Flashpoint selves lived with.

We also see The Flash battle Shade and Caitlin informs Cisco of her powers.

They try to use Wally as Bait to capture Doctor Alchemy , just for it to backfire and him to escape. In this process Wally ends up encased in a Cocoon and we earn that Doctor Alchemy is just a lackey for someone else. Calling themselves Savitar.

That's all for this post.

TV Review: Stitchers Season 1 Episode 3 "Connections" [Emz]

Now episode 3 was interesting, it required Kirsten stitching into the mind of a newlywed t prove who killed her.

This episode guest starred Michael Grant Terry who I remember from Bones.

Here is the synopsis:

When a murky stitch doesn't give enough evidence against a newlywed husband accused of killing his wife, Kirsten attempts to prove her strong feelings about his innocence. This effect on Kirsten, brought about by residual emotion from the stitch, makes Cameron worry that she will end up like Marta. Meanwhile, Linus and Camille get to know each other better.

Review:

So this was interesting as Kirsten retrieves all of Ed ( the "father" that looked after her) belongings. So Kirsten and Camille spend time going through photographs and other items.

During this episode Kirsten has to stitch into the mind of a Newlywed who was killed. Most people think that the husband is the person who killed her or set up the murder, but Kirsten doesn't believe it.

After multiple awkward conversations with the husband as she had picked up habits and mannerisms of his dead wife.

In the end the team solve the murder despite almost getting killed in the process.

I really enjoyed the episodes. I look forward to watching the next episode.

Till next time.

DVD Reviews: The Librarians Season 1 Episode 3 "And The Horns Of A Dilemma" [Emz]

Wednesday, 18 October 2017

So Episode 3, The Horn Of A Dilemma. This sees the team on their first mission without Flynn.

We seem to delve into Greek mythology for this one as it includes a Labyrinth and a Minotaur.

Here is the Synopsis:

The Librarians first solo mission hits a snag when Baird loses the others in a magical labyrinth that exists below a skyscraper.

Review:

So this episode really starts The Librarians off on their own adventure without Flynn. They keep getting messages in the book telling them of people going missing. They decide to go and investigate even though Eve doesn't believe they are ready.

Jacob still doesn't trust Cassandra after she betrayed them in the first episode. This is hard for Cassandra to come to terms with but they try to work together as a team.

They arrive at Skyscraper and Eve stays on the ground floor to talk to the Owners and investigate further, whilst the rest of the team goes up stairs to investigate.

After a while as they get further and further into the labyrinth and Cassandra realizes that's what it is, they get chased by a Minotaur and then end up back and the Library to try and find a way out.

They realize that the company is a front for a Minoan Monachy. They use the artifacts that are kept in a side room (which also appears to be part of the Labyrinth), to escape and they also release the Minotaur on the people keeping him trapped in the Labyrinth

Thats all for now.

TV Review: The Magicians Season 1 Episode 1 "Unauthorized Magic" [Emz]

So I first attempted to watch this series a little while ago but never finished the first episode.

So this series is based around the books of the same name by Lev Grossman.

I have seen at least one familiar face in this episode and she is playing a main character. Her name is Stella Maeve and she used to star in Chicago P.D.as Nadia.

Here is the synopsis:

Best friends Quentin and Julia are recruited for an entrance exam to Brakebills University, a secret institution for magical pedagogy.

Review:

I quite liked this episode.. I'm not one for believing in magic or anything like that but the storyline interests me.

So we have two best friends Quentin and Julia. He never feels like he belongs and she seems to be good at everything. Quentin goes for what he thinks is an interview for Yale, which goes horribly wrong when the person they think is the interviewer is dead.

Their trips home get suspended when they end up at Brakebills University and sit an exam. This exam they both later learn is a test to see if the have any magic ability. Quentin goes sailing through after being shocked into performng magic he didn't know he possessed. Julia on the other hand is sent home and has her memory wiped.. or so we think.

Things dont appear to be as they seam at the University as Quentin thinks he s dreaming a character for a kids book about magic he kept reading. This leads to him and some other students attempting to reach the other side and releasing The Beast.

Julia on the other hand remembers all about Brakebills University and end up joining a magic underworld, who will help her to learn how to use the magic he harnesses.

It was definitely an interesting first episode. Bring on the next one.

TV Review: Stitchers Season 1 Episode 2 "Friends In Low Places" [Emz]

Tuesday, 17 October 2017

I quite enjoyed episode 1 and this episode was rather good.

Here is the Synopsis:
Kirsten and the team cross paths with Detective Fisher while probing the case of a young woman who died from an overdose of a dangerous new drug.

Review:

So, this episode was a little different, Stitch wise to the last one. Kristen has to battle the effects of of a dangerous new drug whilst is a victims memories and to figure out what happened to her and how she died.

Also, Kristen is trying to solve the case as soon as she can so she can "stitch" into her dead "father's" memories to see why he committed suicide of was murdered.

With a little help from Camille and a lot of hindrance from Detective Fisher they solver the case, learning in the process that Camille was hired by the Stitchers program to keep an eye on Kristen. Also Detective Fisher is introduced to the Stitchers program.

The only problem is that they solve the case a little to late and Kristen is no longer able to Stitch into her dead "fathers memories, as he is past the stage where his memories are still able to be seen.

That's all for this review.

TV Review: Doctor Who Series 1 Episode 8 "Father's Day" [Emz]

Now this episode is a little emotional, but at the same time seems to teach Rose about the consequences that time travel can cause.

This episode is called Fathers Day. It originally aired on BBC One on the 14th May 2005.

Here is the synopsis:
Pete Alan Tyler, the father of Rose and husband of Jackie, died on 7 November 1987, the day of Stuart Hoskins and Sarah Clark's wedding. Rose was just a baby at the time, Jackie told the young Rose that nobody was there for Pete when he died and that the hit-and-run driver was never found...
Now grown up, Rose asks the Ninth Doctor to take her to see him alive, but on a whim, ends up changing his fate, not realising the consequences of such a paradox. After all, the Doctor has saved so many lives...what could the real consequences be over a man alive in the world who wasn't alive before?

Review:

Now this episode was a bit of a tearjerker. Rose and The Doctor travel back to 1987 on the day that Rose's father was killed. The only issues is that Rose creates a Paradox by travelling back twice and saving her fathers life.

In the process the Reaper arrive to clean up her mess. The Doctor is angry and Rose just wanted to meet her father.

Of course they have to take shelter in the Church and when Rose's father realises who she is, he also gets her to hold herself and that causes The Doctor to sacrifice himself.

In the end Pete (Rose's father) realises that he shouldn't have lived as he witnesses the car that was supposed to have hit him going round and round the same place. He sacrifices himself to save everyone.

I found this episode a liittle sad but I felt it also showed a valuable lesson in Time travelling.

TV Review: Designated Survivor Season 1 Episode 3 "The Confession" [Emz]

Monday, 16 October 2017

Here we are with episode 3. This episode is called "The Confession." This episode takes another twist.

In this episode we find out who survived the Capitol Bombing, Who is supposedly behind the bombing and what exactly this 'Confession' is.

This episode originally aired on the 5th October 2016 on ABC.

Review:

This episode was full of mixed feelings. We start with the Hack of the White House's firewall. They were not searching for anything but left behind a video supposedly proving who was behind the bombing.

We also have the revealing of who survived the bombing. Congressman Peter McLeish (Ashley Zukerman.)

Also, during an interview President Kirkman reveals he was originally fired before being Designated Survivor. This does not go down well and the former Presidents Son refuses to have him speak at the funeral.

Hannah Wells and one of her associates uncovers evidence to show that McLeish survived as he wasn't in his seat when the bomb went off.

That is where the episode ends and the suspense is still building and I look forward to the next episode.

TV Review: The Flash Season 3 Episode 5 " Monster" [Emz]

Now this episode is again a little different. The hint of the difference is in the title.

So "Monster" originally aired on the 1st November 2016 on The CW.

Here is the synopsis:
Caitlin visits her mother to help her understand her growing meta-human powers; Barry tries to convince Julian to let him help investigate a new meta-human that is attacking Central City.

Review:

So it seems a monster is terrorising Central City. Barry and the team are having trouble with it. The other problems that they are facing are Barry being shown up  to his boss by Julian as he is late a number of times and disappears alot.

The team are also having issues with H.R. Wells as he hasn't really done much since he arrived.

Caitlin has taken time off and went to meet with her mother to see if she can help her with her Ice powers, they go through a number of tests until her mothers colleague doesn't want to let her go.

In the end Barry seems to make some leeway with Julian after they work out that the Monster is a Hologram and is being programmed by a young boy.

The team also realise that H.R. isn't a scientist at all.

I enjoyed the way this episode went but flt sorry for Barry and Caitlin, but laughed alot at H.R and the way he kept repeating everything Cisco and Barry said.

TV Review: Stitchers Season 1 Episode 1 "A Stitch In Time" [Emz]

Saturday, 14 October 2017

Now I have never seen this show before but I had been interested in it for a while.

The only ast member I had heard of was Alison Scagliotti as she used to star in Warehouse 13.

The first episode is called "A Stitch In Time."

Here is the Synopsis:

ABC Family's first procedural drama, "Stitchers," follows Kirsten, a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be 'stitched' into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Working alongside Kirsten is Cameron, a brilliant neuroscientist whose passion for the program is evident in his work. The secret program is headed by Maggie, a skilled veteran of covert operations, and includes Linus, a socially immature bio-electrical engineer and communications technician. Kirsten's roommate, Camille, a gifted computer science grad student, is also recruited to use her skills to assist Kirsten in her new role as a 'stitcher'.

Review:

I quite enjoyed this episode. It is a little different from what i'm used to watching. So Kirsten is stitched into the minds of a eseaced person and has to work out what the memories mean. Usually the search is for something npartcular.

In this case a man blew himself up but has left 2 other bombs it different places and they have to try to decipher them to work out where the other bombs are.

Kirsten is thrown in at the deep end with this one but manages to gather Intel from the memories. She goes rogue though to try and work out where these places are and where the bombs are.

I like the tone of the show it was quite good. I look forward to watching more.

TV Review: Doctor Who Series 1 Episode 7 " The Long Game" [Emz]

Friday, 13 October 2017

So here is "The Long Game" We are getting close to another double episode and I know full well the first time I watched those episodes it creeped me out.

But anyway back to this episode. This is the first appearance of Satellite 5. The next appearance is also this series but not quite yet. We also have a brief  'Cameo' by the Face Of Boe, who we first met in episode 2.

This episode originally aired on the 7th May 2005 on BBC One.

Here is the synopsis:
New companion of the Ninth Doctor, Adam Mitchell, takes his first trip in the TARDIS. The ship materialises in Satellite 5, a space station that broadcasts across the entire Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire. However, something is amiss: the Empire's attidude and technology is backwards, those who are promoted to Floor 500 simply disappear, humanity is possibly being manipulated by the news, and who exactly is the sinister Editor's employer?

Review:

This episode was very odd but I liked it. So this is Adam's first trip into space, let alone the future. After being shown a section of the space station, Adam proceeds to faint at which the Doctor says to Rose, "That's your Boyfriend" and she says, "Not anymore."

They find that Satellite 5 projects to New around the world.  They gather all the news through the chip in their heads. They soon learn that something is not right. The Doctor realizes that the way things are being run and the technology are 90 years too old.

We later learn that The Editor (Simon Pegg) is actually a Puppet for someone else, this turns out to be the Jagrafess. The Editor holds The Doctor and Rose hostage and wants to know who they are as they are not known at all.

In this time Adam has gone wandering and ended up with a chip implanted in his head and it can open up at the front of his head. He goes to try and gather lots of information but ends up giving The editor exactly what he wanted, Knowledge on The Doctor and Rose. It takes Cathica who they met previously to stop it.

Of course after The Jagrafess is destroyed by overheating it, The Doctor sends Adam back home as he will not allow him to travel with him again.

The funniest bit is the fact that the chip in his head opens at the front with the click of a finger. When Adams mum comes home and is really happy to see him she express that time flies and then clicks her fingers and Adam's forehead opens up.

Recurring Theme: The Recurring theme throughout this series is Bad Wolf. It is first mentioned in Episode 2 The end of The world Were 'The Bad Wolf Scenario' is Mentioned. Again in episode 3 The Unquiet Dead when Gwenyth mentions The Big Bad Wolf when she can see where Rose is actually from. The words Bad Wolf are seen in Aliens or London/ World War Three, spray painted onto the TARDIS. In this episode there is TV channel called Bad Wolf TV.

Next time I will be reviewing is the emotional Father's Day.

DVD Reviews: The Librarians Season 1 Episode 2 "And The Sword In The Stone" [Emz]

So It's been a while since I posted any reviews on this show. This is the second half of episode 1 technically and episode 1 ended on a Cliffhanger.

Again as I stated last time, if you have not seen this show *spoilers* for the review itself.

Here is the synopsis:
The Serpent Brotherhood is trying to return magic to our world. Flynn, Colonel Baird, and the potential Librarians must stop them before it's too late

Review:

So following the last episode and Cassandra's betrayal, Flynn Carsen (The Librarian) and the rest of the team are cut off form the Library, with no way back. Flynn is mortally wounded, but they need to find some way of finding the Serpent Brotherhood.

They eventually track them down to a Roman Crypt beneath Buckingham Palace.  The Brotherhood plan to release magic into the world and they manage to succeed before the team get the Crown and Excalibur back.

Cassandra rejoins the team after helping them but is not completely trusted by all members as yet. She heals Flynn with what magic is left.

Flynn leaves the rest of the Team to battle what is out there now magic has been released back into the world, to go and search for the Library.

I enjoyed this second half of this story. As i previously stated it continued from the last episode. As I prevously forgot to mention in this post we meet Jenkins also who has an offshoot of the Library and is connected in someway. He appears to be a little OCD though and like everything just so and doesn't enjoy many people around, so it's a little hard for him to adjust to the team setting up their base of operations there.

Each character has their own personality and it is quite funny to get to know them all. It is a little sad to see the Cassandra has accepted her fate that one day she will more than likely die of her brain tumor, but she is willing to help as much as she can.
